Bright Morning Star Children's MinistriesLocated in Nairobi, Kenya, Bright Morning Star Children's Ministries is established with the mandate for Reaching out to the Orphaned, Needy and Vulnerable children from early stage in life. These children face great physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs as a result of poverty, and negligence. These children are in most cases orphaned or under the care of drunkard guardians or elderly needy caregivers. The overall objective of the program is to provide love, care, shelter, basic social services, counseling, education and skills. Bright Morning Star Children Ministries is a daughter ministry of Stars for Jesus Ministries both founded by late Rev. Philip Githaiga. Bright Morning Star Children Ministries takes care of young children while Stars for Jesus Ministries focuses in rehabilitating the street children from the streets and the slums of Kenya. The Widow's MightLocated near Pemba, Mozambique, the Widow's Might exists to empower widows and children in Mozambique, by teaching them confidence, equipping them with the skills needed to consistently provide for their families and skills to enhance the quality of life. Our work is motivated by our faith in Jesus.
The number of widows in Mozambique is staggering. Whether they have lost their husbands to the 16- year civil war, AIDS/HIV, deserting one wife to go with another, or some other reason, they are all in similar positions. Most are alone with little (if any) education and only the skills necessary to run a household. Often they are homeless as their late husband’s family has kicked them out and reclaimed their home. One of the most tragic impacts of losing a husband is breaking up families when children are sent to orphanages because their mothers cannot feed, clothe or shelter them.
